It’s been a little while since I’ve been writing because my life has been consumed with travel and planning for our wedding. I wanted to pop up a few posts from now until November and then I’ll be back on a regular schedule with posting. In the mean time, I was also nominated again this year for the Irish Blog Awards in the Beauty Category! I’m thrilled and a huge thank you for everyone that voted, it was a nice surprise. The Blog Awards will be in a couple weeks, so I will keep you posted on that! Anyhow – the other afternoon I stopped into Nordstrom when I was back in Florida – where I purchased the Drunk on Youth scent by Derek Lam 10 Crosby.
I originally went to go purchase the large 1.7oz bottle for $85 . I had been eyeing it originally when I spotted it in Sephora. The price was just lowered by $10, so I supposed that justified my purchase. I also saw a three-piece set celebrating the scent of Drunk on Youth. It was $100. Inside contained the Eau de Parfum (1.7 oz.), Eau de Parfum Travel Spray (0.34 oz.), and the Parfum Stick (0.12 oz.). I was a sucker for a ‘deal,’ so I picked that up instead. I know I always pop a travel perfume in my purse and I thought a hard roller of perfume might be extremely handy.
Drunk on Youth has been a scent I’ve constantly been reaching for since it was put on my perfume shelf. It has natural notes of honeysuckle that mingle with crisp apple for a sophisticated effect. It’s floral, fresh, citrusy and fruity says the website. I just find it extremely light to wear and not overpowering, especially when I spritz myself down on a flight – sometimes I know that can be overpowering for your seat neighbor on the flight. Derek Lam offers 10 scents in the collection, so if this one is not right for you – there are nine others to choose from. I suggest 2AM Kiss, Hi-Fi and Something Wild. With of course Drunk on Youth being my favorite.
