Currently Reaching For: March, April & May 2018

For the month of March, I was trying to have a bit of a no-buy with beauty. Which then followed into April. Now before you go thinking I got tired of makeup and have been so silent on the blog – I thought I’d say… we bought our first home! Look for some interior posts to be coming along. I never knew how stressful it was to move and own a home. My brain turned into mush, but it feels great to be back!

Trying out a new cleanser seemed like a good idea. I’ve never owned anything from Fresh Beauty so I decided to dip into a few of their products that everyone raves about. This one is a bit of a wild card because although I love the actual product, I could live without the smell. The Soy Face Cleanser is an extra-gentle gel cleanser for all skin types that whisks away everyday impurities and makeup. My mascara just melts off. I rate it as highly as I do my Glossier Cleanser, but price wise – its more expensive.

For effortless lips, I’ve been really enjoying the NARS Velvet Lip Glide in the shade Bound. It’s a soft pink rose color with a highly saturated, smooth satin finish. Originally I received this in one of my Sephora 500 point boxes, since then I had to purchase the full size, as the miniature one is now empty! I literally never empty lip products, so when I do: its worth it. I also use the Makeup Forever Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in 3C for a finished combination. I now hear that the lip liner is going to be discontinued, so I ordered a few as back ups!

I’ve been obsessed with burning candles, aren’t we all? Especially after moving, I wanted to smell something familiar. I’ve really been loving the Diptyque Mimosa candle this month and the Diptyque Vanille candle. Partially because I need a new toothbrush holder, as my husband accidentally smashed one of my empty candle jars while reaching for the toothbrush. I picked an old favorite to burn though. Before I took any photos for this post – my Mimosa candle is now empty!

Tata Harper has always been one of those brands that I adore. Having their beautifully packaged items on my shelf always reminds me to reach for them and use them up. I’ve been loving the Tata Harper Illuminating Moisturizer with diamond radiance. After applying my skincare routine, I like to add a bit of glow on top – specifically on my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. It goes on wherever I want some extra luminosity. The glow makes my makeup look effortless and natural.
