The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer

Many of you have asked how I maintain my hair and keep it looking shiny without heat damage. To be completely honest, I’ve been blessed with smooth and healthy hair. I’m always trying out new things in hair care and have been loving a new hair dryer in particular. I’ve put it to the test in the past few weeks, so today I’m sharing some thoughts on the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer. When it comes to finding the perfect hair dryer, I always look for a quality brand with great reviews and also the weight and noise of it are factors. When I was invited to sit down with the lovely team from Dyson I learned way more than I thought I ever would.

The Supersonic is by far the most expensive hairdryer I own, so hear me out on this one. It’s worth it. I always just let my hair air dry because I feel like the hair drying experience always takes too long. Then add the skincare and makeup routine on top of that, it’s just entirely too long. With the Supersonic, I can dry my hair in 10 (15 at most) minutes. I was enthralled with how comfortable it felt in my hand and how beautifully it smoothed my hair. I felt like I had one of the best blow outs, and I DID IT! I don’t need to go in afterwards with a flat iron at all.

For the tech bit: “Dyson has invested £50 million in the development of the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, including a state of the art laboratory where Dyson engineers investigate the science of hair. Here, they study hair from root to tip, understanding how it reacts to stresses, how to keep it healthy and how to style it. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has been tested on different hair types and test rigs, which mechanically simulate different hair drying techniques. To date over 1010 miles of real human hair have been used in testing.” The girls from Dyson even brought over some hair from their lab for me to get an idea of the range.

The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is powered by the patented Dyson digital motor V9, created in-house by a team of over 15 motor engineers specifically for this machine. It is Dyson’s smallest, lightest, most advanced digital motor. They showed me a comparison of how large and bulky the different motors could be and how small the Dyson motor was. I was pretty blown away. (Pun intended) The lightweight motor is about half the size of its competitors.

Inside the box, you’ll receive the hair dryer, a heat mat, and three magnetic nozzles. My tool is in the fuchsia and iron color combination. The three nozzles include a smoothing nozzle, styling concentrator and a diffuser. I was told that the attachments were engineered to remain cool to the touch, so when you were done using them they wouldn’t burn you. Being magnetic, each nozzle is easy to attach and adjust. The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer has four heat settings, three airflow settings and a cold shot too. The dryer also comes with a guaranteed two year warranty.

It is so important to me that I find the right tool to keep up the shine of my hair and I’ve done that with the Supersonic. The Supersonic’s ability to dry my hair so rapidly, while not being the loudest hair dryer and not frying my hair has made my life so much easier. I can definitely say that this is my number one and I will not be reaching for anything else! You can purchase this amazing hairdryer directly from Dyson online here. In Ireland, it costs €399. Yes, its also available in America here and the price is $399.

*The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer was gifted to me for my consideration. Of course, all opinions are my own.
