Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Eyeshadow Palette

Somewhere along the way, I kinda fell out of love with blogging. I took some time off to focus on the wedding, buying a house & dealing with endless amounts of paperwork with the immigration offices. It pretty much all kept me occupied and during that time I always thought I wouldn’t be away for so long. I’d never leave this space blank, but sadly I did. I’m glad to say that I’ve gotten a rush back into loving what I do on here and have been more motivated than ever to create more consistent content. Oh and my thoughts on the Norvina palette!

As always, there is massive hype around Anastasia Beverly Hills product launches, especially with the eyeshadow palettes. I love a good eyeshadow launch! So when I saw Norvina launching her own palette, immediately I needed it – like the rest of the Internet. The Anastasia Norvina Eyeshadow Palette is a new, limited-edition 14-shade palette. It has a mix of shimmers and mattes running you $42 as expected for an ABH palette.

  • Dreamer – soft, peachy champagne metallic sheen
  • Summer – medium golden copper topaz metallic sheen
  • Wild Child – duo-chrome frosty pink with magenta shift
  • Rose Gold (Norvina) – deep plum metallic rosewood sheen
  • Celestial – duo-chrome plum with a violet shift
  • Dazzling – cool-tone duo chrome bronze with a violet shift
  • Drama –  duo chrome aubergine/eggplant with a cool bronze shift
  • Base – soft, light matte eggshell with a satin-like finish
  • Soul – light, dusty purple with a satin shimmer
  • Incense – matte dusty terracotta
  • Love – matte mid-tone cool pink with a satin finish
  • Volatile – dark warm charcoal matte finish
  • Eccentric – dark burnt orange matte finish
  • Passion – deep garnet reddish-brown matte finish

The Anastasia Norvina Eyeshadow Palette is built just like all of their other palettes, interesting colors with a large mirror and eyeshadow brush – while on the packaging having a smooth velvet finish. The eyeshadow brush is still pointless for me, but for someone that doesn’t own as many brushes, you might love it. On one side is a fluffly crease blending brush and the other is a thinner bristled brush for packing on metallics and shimmers to the lid.

The colors swatch beautifully with my fingers and I was quite surprised how easily they transfer with a brush. The palette really packs a punch, and yes – there is fallout. It’s nothing unmanaged in my opinion and because the colors perform well, I don’t really think about it. The shimmers are the best when you apply them with your fingers, however they are a flaky when applied with that method. I tried using Fix+ with a few different types of brushes and they were good, but way better with the fingertips.

For all of the reviews I’ve seen, the palette is a staple – but there are some cons, like the amount of kick-up the shadows create. The most major conclusion by the Internet was to do your eye makeup before foundation so that you’re able to clean up the fall out afterwards. I feel like that’s no problem for me, as naturally I start with the eyes before I work onto my foundation. The great thing about makeup is that there are no rules, and there are hundreds of ways to apply it! You can now snag this palette from Sephora, Ulta and on the ABH website. It’s available for $42!
