Happy Halloween!! Unfortunately today I will be missing out on all of the shenanigans that go along with the holiday, because I am in flight back to Dublin. This past week, I made a last minute trip back to Florida with my fiancé to see my family. It’s been such a great time, as I’m sure a lot of ya’ll have seen from my Snapchats. Anyways, to the best part: a special delivery came this week from Algenist. They’ve released new products for the fall season, which include the REVEAL Concentrated Luminizing Drops in three colors. I was also sent the GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin C+ Serum to go along with my GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream.
As you have read before, I’ve been obsessing over my REVEAL Concentrated Color Correcting Drops in Green – so when I was sent these luminizing drops, I knew they were going to be an immediate addition to my daily routine. Algenist has released three shades in these particular drops – champagne, pearl and rosé.
The Champagne is an illuminating gold, Rosé is a glowing pink and the Pearl is a highlighting silver. They can be used together or on their own, which I am a fan of. You only need one drop per cheek, so this little bottle will last you quite a while. If you want a more glowy effect, I’d suggest applying them after you’ve set your makeup. You can add them directly on the bridge of your nose, cheek and brow bones. They blend easily by fingertips or with a brush/beauty blender. For all over radiance, I mix in a drop or two with my foundation. The drops dry pretty quickly after application and blending, so you won’t be walking around with a wet-feeling face.
The REVEAL Concentrated Luminizing Drops are priced at $38 each. I know Sephora has a small travel set of two, if you can’t decide which one you want to try. You can find that here. I’ve used a few types of color drops recently, such as the Cover FX, and these are less metallic and intense looking. The Algenist drops give you a more natural glow. Basically, I don’t look like the tin-man when I wear them! Coming into the fall/winter season, they’re perfect.
I also mentioned I was sent the GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin C+ Serum. I own the GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream and frequently use it, so this serum is a great prior-addition. I usually put this serum on one/two times a day, after I wash my face. Being in the Florida sun all week, my face is drinking it up. I use about two pumps and dot it onto my face. I use it all over my face, under eye and neck, avoiding the inner-eye area. After applying I wait at least five minutes, then apply moisturizer. Tip: if you have a sticky face, you’re using too much. It is priced at $118.
