La Mer: Glowing Body Oil

Normally I try not to write reviews on items that are sold out pretty much everywhere, but I really couldn’t help myself with this one. Rumor has it, a few stores still have this La Mer Glowing Body Oil – which is how I found mine. So, if you’re like me and don’t give up, it doesn’t hurt to look around.

I was in Blue Mercury, where I tested out the Glowing Body Oil originally. Immediately I wanted to purchase it. The sales associate told me that it was out-of-stock almost everywhere, but they would let me know when they get their next shipment. After leaving the store, I started looking online for it. It showed those dreaded words: sold out. I read about the oil further and had no idea it was Limited Edition, which makes sense on why it was out-of-stock everywhere.

I’m a huge La Mer fan and use their products in my daily skincare routine, so I knew the quality would be on par with their other products. This Glowing Body Oil has the prettiest soft shimmer and feels extremely moisturizing. I’ve been using the NARS Monoi Body Glow II (Here is my review of the Monoi Glow) for quite awhile and now I find myself reaching for the La Mer instead.

With its rich blend of vitamin E and nourishing oils, the body oil softens and conditions skin to create a natural, sun-kissed glow. I love to lather it on right before I go sit in the sun, or even right after the shower. It is 3.4oz and costs $100. I was lucky enough to purchase it during the Blue Mercury sale, where I got 20% off and a gift with purchase.

I’m thrilled I was able to get it, but on the flip side, I won’t be able to replenish my stock after its empty. Catch 22 I guess! Moral of the story: if you see it pop up online or in store, purchase it right away. You won’t be disappointed!
